2022 Annual Report

Greetings. We completed the first post-pandemic year. We hope that you and family are safe and healthy and have been enjoying the post pandemic era. Below is a reflection of COBA activities in the past year and hope to continue the same or better in 2023.

AZ Activities

Low Income/Refugee Support: COBA distributes cash to families with low income, some of whom were refugees who needed immediate help.

  • Cash disbursed to 10 families in April 2022
  • Cash disbursed to 12 families in December 2022

Starting in August 2022, COBA started a regular distribution of dry-food distribution to low income families.

  • In 8 events, 390 bags of food were provided
  • 170 families were served
  • Over 10,400 pounds of dry food (plus turkey inĀ  November) were distributed
  • Some hygiene items were also provided in December

Activities in Bangladesh

  • Winter clothes distributed to 160 families in Bandarbon
  • Medical equipment for maternity and neo-natal care donated to Southern Medical College in Chattogram
  • Over 200 patients were screened for eye disease and 50 cataract surgeries completed in Rangpur
  • Dry food distributed to over 300 families in Moulvibazar, Rangpur and Chattogram
  • Sewing machines, goat and poultry cages were given to about 30 families towards self-sustenance
  • Medical equipment donated to Bangladesh Eye Care Society to enable quality eye surgeries for children in Mirpur, Dhaka
  • Funded a school with special needs children to learn necessary life skills
  • Flood relief provided to over 1500 families in Sylhet in 3 events
  • Provided cash assistance to burn victims from Sitaundu, Chattogram
  • Provided yearly support for the operation of an orphanage with 25-30 students
  • Provided tuition expenses for two nursing students
